The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) had announced a series of lectures and quiz competitions for school students as part of World Space Week celebrations.
Mr.Vishnu.MC, a scientist at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO, was deputed to come to Choice School and address the students on various aspects of Space development pogrammes in India and abroad.
The audience comprised of Grade 5 students, members of the Hall of Hope from Foundation stage and Preparatory and the IBPYP 4 students.Mr.Vishnu covered interesting aspects such as the history of space programme development in India, the parts of a rocket, how it is assembled, the process of sending a rocket into space, the function of a space station etc.
He kept the children engaged very constructively for more than an hour and a half. The highly interactive session had the 5th graders subject him to a volley of intelligent questions as well as correct answers to all his queries.
With the help of some interesting images, facts and videos, Mr. Vishnu was able to take the children on an interesting and fascinating journey into SPACE. At the end of the session the children were left asking for more.
