Van Mahotsav or Forest festival’, is an annual one-week tree-planting festival in India which is celebrated in the first week of July. Grades 1 and 2 celebrated this week in a grand manner.
The celebration was kick-started by lighting of the auspicious lamp by our respected Principal Mr. Ajith Jacob, Educational Administrator Mrs. Vimala Jacob, Vice Principal Ms. Reeba and a special guest Mr. Pradeep R, who is a Section Forest Officer in the Social Forestry Division, Ernakulam.
Mr.Ajith Jacob,Principal, spoke to the children on how cutting trees can cause an imbalance in the environment.
Mr. Pradeep, spoke about how each and every person contributes to the well-being of a tree, how the people living in the urban areas can help protect the flora and fauna of a place by bringing a slight change in their lifestyle.
Anshul from Grade 2 shared his views on forests and their importance.




On 7 July during the zero hour, students created posters with leaf etchings.


As part of Vanamahotsav week, this term’s first field trip was arranged to the Hill Palace on 14th July for Grade 2 and on 12 July for Grade 1. The students had a fun-filled time, not just visiting the Museum but to go on a long Nature walk and appreciate the flora and fauna surrounding the Museum.



The Vanmohatsav celebrations concluded with a special assembly put up by the students of Grades 1 and 2 on the importance of trees. Parents were invited to watch the assembly. Mr. Jose Thomas, Founder President was our special guest that day.
