Taekwondo is a Korean martial art characterized by kicking and punching techniques. However, it teaches more than fighting skills. It is centred on the 5 tenets of – courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.
Young Aradhya Vaid of Grade 5, under the tutelage of her coach, Sachin Antony and with the blessings of her sports teachers at school, has been training in this form of martial art for the past 3 years.
This year, she participated in the all-Kerala Taekwondo Championship, in the 9-12 age group and won a creditable silver medal in her maiden attempt at such a big tournament. Her consistent and persevering efforts at perfecting the art for the past 3 years has borne fruit.
We are sure Aradhya has a promising future and wish her the best as she keeps following her passion. It always brings us joy to see our students be transformed in their Knowledge, Character and Health. Congratulations, Aradhya!
