We are happy to announce that The Choice School, Kochi is now an authorised IBDP School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high-quality programmes of international education that share a powerful vision**.
The vision of The Choice School is to provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment where children will recognize and achieve their fullest potential, so that they make their best contribution to society. This is in clear alignment with the IB Philosophy.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), offered to students of age group 3 to 12, is underpinned by six transdisciplinary themes which are selected for their relevance to the real world. The curriculum focuses on students’ interests, builds up their self-esteem and confidence, as well as supports the development of skills in all cognitive areas in relevant ways. Children, from birth, are full of curiosity, and the PYP provides a framework that gives crucial support for them to be active inquirers and lifelong learners.
The curriculum framework emphasizes the central principle of agency that is threaded throughout three pillars of the curriculum: the learner, learning and teaching and the learning community. Through this evolution, the PYP provides a framework that is transformational and continues to meet the initial aims of developing internationally-minded people who recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet.
PYP develops students’ academic, social and emotional wellbeing, focusing on international-mindedness and a sense of belonging to local and global communities. It nurtures independent and collaborative learners, encouraging every student to have voice, choice and ownership in their own learning.

As someone has rightly put it-“Stay curious, be open to new information, and take an active role in keeping up with changes in your business, your industry, your community, and the world around you. That’s what makes you an eternal learner.”
*Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme or the IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
**Mission Statement from the IB
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
