Department of Health, Development and Education Support

The Department of Health, Development and Education Support is an independent department works in tandem with school, which provides an array of services by dedicated team of multi-disciplinary professionals, focused on  holistic growth and development of the students across the school.

Children will be annually screened and monitored for healthy growth and development, based on the need or difficulty faced by them such as learning, behavioral and emotional difficulties. As the problem is identified, parents are invited to meet with the department head to discuss and plan management and follow up to ensure an optimal environment for their child’s health, learning and development.

Special Education

A child’s plea:  teach me the way I can learn….. not the way you can teach me.

The Choice School offers an inclusive learning environment for all children including those with learning difficulties, autism, ADHD and slow learners (special educational needs). Following a formal assessment, an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) is developed for the child, with supportive therapy included into their school timetable, provided by the team of experienced therapists and special educators. Regular follow up and partnership with parents ensures a child can reach their maximal potential in a safe, happy and caring environment.

The transition from childhood into young adulthood and the problems faced by children are on the rise. This has been found to impact the ways of development of a child, be it academic, social or emotional. In order to help students the team of dedicated counselors, are available during and after school hours to support and guide students with regular counseling and life skills sessions to help students and families through difficult times.

Any issues in communication could result in personality issues and social communication issues later on. This would include students with autistic traits, pronunciation difficulties, stammering voice disorders, vocabulary deficits and specific language impairments. Keeping this in mind, speech and language therapy services to cater to students with communication deficits.

Clinical Psychology and Child Psychology

There’s nothing as beautiful as the happiness of a child.

The psychological specialty provides continuing and comprehensive mental and behavioral health care for students and their families through psychotherapy, training, education and supervision; and research-based practice. The clinical psychologist and child psychologist in the school works in liaison with the multidisciplinary team of professionals, collectively targeting the removal of any pathological symptoms and/or mediating the maladaptive behavior patterns, and promoting a positive personality growth.
